RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - New wait time data from the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles shows the average time at offices statewide continues to go down, while some have increased.

The drop comes after new legislation that allows more transactions to happen online, instead of in person.

The average wait time for a customer statewide decreased by more than 25 minutes from September to October. The average wait time for offices also decreased by more than 25 minutes.

But the latest information of 110 locations indicates three state offices have average wait times over 3 hours and 20 DMV offices still have wait time averages in the 2-hour range.
