A proposed data center in downtown Minneapolis will be discussed Monday during a Planning Commission meeting.
An entity affiliated with local developer Sherman Associates is proposing an expanded data center in the former Wells Fargo operations center at 255 Second Ave. S.
Currently vacant, the 549,500-square-foot office building sits atop an entire city block at the intersection of Washington and Third avenues, where Sherman Associates initially planned a $400 million mixed-use residential development known as Washington Yards, formerly Harmonia.
Sherman applied for a conditional use permit in October to upgrade the building's electrical service from six megawatts to 26 megawatts as part of the expansion. An agreement has already been reached with Xcel Energy to deliver the additional
