CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Officials at the University of Virginia issued an all-clear on Monday after an earlier call of an active attacker.
Around 3 p.m., the university posted that an active attacker with a gun had been reported in the area of Shannon Library on McCormick Road.
They soon updated that police were investigating but found no evidence of an attack. They issued the all-clear at 4:45 p.m.
Police said they were investigating if a false report was made.
Interim President Paul G. Mahoney wrote to the university community Monday evening, expressing thanks for the community's care for each other.
