HAMPTON, Va. — Hampton police are asking for the public's help to find the suspect in a shooting from Sunday.
Police said just after noon, they were called to the 100 block of Doolittle Road, off of West Mercury Boulevard, for a report of a shooting incident. They arrived to find a 26-year-old woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital.
Police's investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal altercation prior to the shooting that escalated. The suspect allegedly brandished a firearm, shooting the victim before fleeing the scene.
