YOUNGSTOWN Business owners in downtown Youngstown are speaking out against an uptick in violent incidents happening in the streets of downtown Youngstown.
A press release sent to 21 News on behalf of downtown businesses says the most recent instance of this happened during the early morning hours of Saturday, November 1 on Commerce Street between Phelps and Hazel.
According to a police report, this particular incident began at The Social bar when a victim complimented another person's costume, followed by that person punching the victim from behind.
Police say the fight then moved outside, prompting several more people to get involved. Police say the victim was pushed to the ground and punched by two suspects, and another victim was hit while trying to break up the fight.
