Only three days are left for the first round of voting in Bihar, and India's who's who are in the state to reach out to voters. Many factors are in play in this election -- anti-incumbency, caste, jobs, women, farmers, infrastructure, among others.
While caste has been a decisive factor in Indian politics, the party is playing a major role in Bihar's electoral politics. This time, 51% people said they would vote for the preferred party, even if another party fielded a
candidate from their caste. The outcome is from the survey conducted by Votes Vibe.
The survey revealed that 21% respondents will vote for the candidate from their caste regardless of the party, while 6% won't vote for the party if it doesn't give a ticket to the candidate from their caste.
