HUNTINGTON/CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Due to the ongoing government shutdown, Tri River Transit Authority in Hamlin, West Virginia will be offering free fare on all bus routes.

It will be in effect until further notice, the agency announced on Monday.

In Ashland, Kentucky, the Ashland Bus System is offering direct rides to Cares and local food banks. Riders just need to tell the bus driver that’s where they’re heading.

We are reaching out to other public transit systems in the Tri-State to see if they’re offering similar services.
