DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Cocke County attorney has been charged after she was allegedly intoxicated when she went to a jail annex to speak to an inmate on Sunday.
According to an affidavit obtained by WVLT News, a deputy reported that Charlotte Leibrock appeared intoxicated when she went to the Cocke County Jail Annex in Dandridge to speak with an inmate just before 1 p.m. on Sunday. Additionally, jail staff said she fell into a wall and was unsteady on her feet.
When Sgt. Shane Hanshew with the Dandridge Police Department responded to the jail annex, he “observed her to have dilated pupils, dry mouth and thick, slurred speech,” the affidavit said. Leibrock then would not say what medication she had taken and “exhibited a lack of convergence in both eyes” when given a sobriety test.
