Rick Steves joins the Phoenix Symphony for a musical journey across Europe, blending his historical expertise with 19th-century anthems.

As part of the Symphony’s Phoenix Pops concert series, the event will celebrate the travel host and author live on stage with “Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey” Nov. 14-16, led by guest conductor Mélisse Brunet and narrated by Steves.

The concert culminates in Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” Europe’s anthem, accompanied by evocative video imagery from each country.

Brunet and the Phoenix Symphony will take audiences on a musical tour across Europe, performing works by composers Edvard Grieg, Camille Saint-Saëns, Bedřich Smetana, Johann Strauss Jr., Giuseppe Verdi, and others. Steves will draw from his extensive knowledge of European history and cultu
