Banff’s Sunshine Village has just been recognized as the second-best ski resort in western North America.

Ski Magazine recently released its Top 30 Resorts in the West for 2026, and Sunshine Village claimed the runner-up spot and was the top Canadian destination.

The rankings are based on a survey completed each spring by Ski Magazine readers, who rate each resort across 18 criteria, with each resort earning a score between one and 10 in each category.

Sunshine Village was praised as “ An exciting high-alpine ski experience with reliable snow, diverse terrain, and breathtaking views just minutes from the town of Banff,” according to the magazine.
