CAZENOVIA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)— Six Jamaican men who spend their harvest season working at Critz Farms are now watching their families recover from a recent hurricane in Jamaica.
The workers are finishing the season in Central New York, but their families back home are dealing with damaged homes, flooding, and ongoing power and water issues.
Critz Farms co-owner Patrick Allen created a GoFundMe to help support the workers’ families. He also opened a separate bank account at Community Bank in Cazenovia to ensure donations go directly to Jamaica.
The fundraiser will help cover essential expenses, including repairs, food, clean water, clothing, and other necessities, while communities rebuild.
As of today, the GoFundMe has raised thousands of dollars, with donations continuing to come in.
