BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A grocery store chain with several locations already in Alabama will convert three previous Winn-Dixie stores to Food City.
Back in October, the owner of Winn-Dixie supermarkets reported they were selling their remaining stores outside of Florida and southern Georgia .
That’s when a deal was announced for Food City to acquire the remaining three stores in Alabama.
The three locations include:
Fultondale - 1721 Highway 31N
Jasper - 2405 US Highway 78E
Trussville - 465 Main Street
The three stores closed Sunday, Nov. 2, to undergo the conversion from Winn-Dixie to Food City. They will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, as Food City locations.
The company said they hired a majority of current store associates and store managers retaining their expe
