DES MOINES, Iowa —
Ingersoll Avenue from 24th Street to 28th Street was temporarily closed as police investigate a crash in the 2600 block that injured a pedestrian Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 3:30 p.m., Des Moines Police Department officers and Des Moines Fire Department personnel responded after an adult male was struck by an eastbound SUV, authorities said.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.
