KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) -- The Kansas City Chiefs got an essential part of their offense back on Monday.
Starting rookie left tackle Josh Simmons is back with the team after missing the last four games after dealing with a family issue, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapaport.
The Chiefs selected Simmons in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and he'd been playing at an elite level prior to his abrupt absence from the team.
Jaylon Moore stepped in while Simmons was away and performed swimmingly, doing a solid job protecting Patrick Mahomes' blindside.
But the line struggled tremendously against Buffalo on Sunday as Mahomes was under duress all game, as the Chiefs played with three backup offensive linemen.
The bye week couldn't come at a better time for Simmons, along with the rest
