LOS ANGELES – A man found fatally stabbed in an alley near downtown Los Angeles was identified Monday by authorities.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called about 10:03 p.m. Friday to the 1400 block of South Hooper Avenue near East 15th Street, where they found Hicks suffering from stab wounds, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The county Medical Examiner’s office said 48-year-old Chad Hicks died from multiple stab wounds to the neck.

Officers from the LAPD’s Newton Division were handling the investigation.

No suspect description was immediately available.
