MARION Ark. - A man is dead after being shot in the parking lot of a Marion County church on Sunday.

Sunday morning, Marion Police responded to a shooting call at Dominion Outreach Ministries off of I-55.

Church services were interrupted when police said they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Neighbors in the area, like Ruby Evans, who lives directly behind the church, said this is shocking and isn't typical for this area.

"My daughter-in-law and son came over here yesterday and told me to be careful. Somebody had just pulled up in the parking lot at the church and shot the dude in the head and killed him," Evans said.

While the shooting happened at Dominion, members from the church said this has nothing to do with their congregation.
