The Mid-Missouri Solid Waste Management District is asking for public input to develop its regional solid waste management plan . The plan covers Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard, Moniteau and Osage counties.
According to a news release, the plan will determine how the Solid Waste Management District prioritizes spending on waste reduction projects and grants.
“We know there is a significant need to expand access to trash, recycling, and special waste disposal options in our region,” District Planner Elise Buchheit said in the news release. “It is vital that local priorities and concerns drive our plan to improve waste diversion.”
Residents can share their input in an online survey .
Input meetings will also be held in each county included in the solid waste managemen
