CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Relief is on the way for millions of Americans who use SNAP Benefits after the Trump administration said it will provide partial benefits for November during the government shutdown.
The move comes after judges ruled that the food aid program must, at least partially, continue. A move expected to help nearly 100,000 SNAP recipients in Hamilton County.
Staff at Freestore Foodbank, who have seen an uptick in need over the last couple of days and weeks, said it’s welcome news despite remaining uncertainty about when the benefits will hit accounts.
“To prevent multiple visits, we’re providing families with 20-30% more food, helping bridge the gap between benefit checks,” Kurt Reiber, Freestore Foodbank CEO, said.
