Calgary Flames prospect Henry Mews didn’t seem to have any struggles adjusting from the OHL to the college hockey ranks.
Mews, who was selected in the third round of the 2024 draft, chose to go the college route after racking up 82 points in 68 OHL games in 2024-25.
Any doubts on whether he would struggle in the early going were quickly silenced, as he recorded nine assists through just 10 games with the University of Michigan. Unfortunately, that’s all we’ll get to see from him as a freshman.
Mews, 19, was injured in a game on Saturday versus Notre Dame after taking a knee-on-knee hit from Sutter Muzzatt.
The team has since confirmed that Mews will indeed be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign. It’s a huge loss for them, but is even more unfortunate for the player hi
