BOISE, Idaho — Potato enthusiasts, unite. Idaho's famous New Year's Eve Potato Drop could be award-winning with some help from readers.

The event is nominated for USA Today's 10BEST Readers' Choice list. Voting is open from November 3 to December 10 at 10:00 a.m. MST at this link.

In 2024, the Potato Drop won second place. Ludington, Michigan, won the top spot that year. This year marks the third time Idaho has been nominated for the award.

The Potato Drop is up against 19 other New Year's Eve celebrations across the country. Competitors include:
