A man who was accused of causing a crash that seriously injured himself, four other teens, and an Uber driver near Sacred Heart University in Fairfield in 2023 was sentenced to prison on Friday.

The crash happened early on the morning of Sept. 29, 2023.

Tyler Delk, who is now 21 years old, was a 19-year-old Sacred Heart student at the time of the crash, according to the arrest warrant that was issued for him.

Police said he was under the influence -- 10 times over the limit for someone under 21 years old -- and going 85 miles per hour when he lost control of the Audi he had borrowed from his roommate and collided with a Toyota Corolla that was transporting four Sacred Heart students back to campus.
