ATLANTA — Braves social media is abuzz on Monday after the team announced the internal hiring of bench coach Walt Weiss as the 49th manager in franchise history.

Weiss, who began his coaching tenure in Atlanta in 2018 as the bench coach under Brian Snitker, was Snit's right hand man inside the Braves dugout for a number of years until Snitker decided to step down following a disappointing 2025 season, but an incredible 10-year tenure.
