ELYRIA, Ohio — In recognition of Veterans Day and in support of those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, Lorain County will illuminate the Historic Courthouse with green light from Nov. 4 - 11 as part of Operation Green Light for Veterans.
The initiative, led by the National Association of Counties (NACo), is a nationwide effort to honor veterans while raising awareness about the challenges many face and the resources available to support them at the county, state and federal levels, according to a news release.
Residents, businesses, and community organizations throughout Lorain County are encouraged to take part by changing one light to a green bulb during the week. Participants are invited to share photos of their green lights on social media using the hashtag #OperationGreenLi
