The Home Office has issued a statement following reports that a convicted paedophile was arrested at a hotel housing asylum seekers.

Labour MP for Altrincham and Sale West Connor Rand previously said the suspect 'should never have been allowed in this country' as he shared resident's 'anger' at being 'kept in the dark' about the arrest.

It was reported that the 32-year-old man had been arrested by the National Crime Agency at the Britannia Ashley Hotel in Hale , which is currently being used to house migrants.
