TORONTO - Two days after losing the World Series, John Schneider has been named a finalist for AL Manager of the Year for guiding the Toronto Blue Jays to the top of the American League.

The winner of the regular-season award, voted on by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, will be announced Nov. 11.

Dan Wilson of the Seattle Mariners and Stephen Vogt of the Cleveland Guardians are the other finalists.

Schneider, in his fourth year as manager and third full season, oversaw a dramatic turnaround for the franchise after Toronto finished last in the AL East with a 74-88 record in 2024.

In 2025, the Blue Jays posted a 94-68 record, winning the division via a tiebreaker over the New York Yankees by beating the Tampa Bay Rays 13-4 in their regular-season finale.
