OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Voters will head to the polls in Overland Park Tuesday to decide who they want to be their mayor for the next four years.
Researcher and former City Councilman Faris Farassati's challenging current Mayor Curt Skoog. Skoog's seeking a second term. Whoever wins Tuesday night will be sworn in December 1.
Skoog says the election will be an evaluation of himself. Before winning his first mayoral term in November of 2021, he served four terms on the city council.
"In that time, we have been rated the best place to live," Skoog said in an interview with FOX4 Friday. "Last week, we were rated the second safest city in the United States. We continue to grow our economy. We continue to build housing and neighborhoods."
Farassati served as a councilman from 2017 to 2023. He
