Alaska will have a special presence at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.

Multi-platinum singer Jewel, who was born in Utah but raised near Homer, Alaska, will be performing in the parade. She’ll appear on Holland America Line’s Alaska-themed float, bringing a bit of her home state to the national celebration.

Jewel says she’s excited to share the spirit of Alaska with parade viewers this Thanksgiving.

The parade will step off on Thursday, November 27, at 4:30 a.m. Alaska time.
