The family of 24-year-old Mackenzie Stirling has reached out for support of the young woman, the sole survivor of the devastating fatal explosion at a mine near Cobar.
Ms Stirling was assisting 59-year-old shift supervisor Ambrose McMullen and 24-year-old charge-up operator Holly Clarke prepare shot firing at Endeavor Silver Zinc Mine at 3am on October 28, 2025.
An explosion, the cause of which is still unidentified, took Mr McMullen's life immediately while Ms Clarke passed away shortly after she and Ms Stirling were returned to the surface.
Ms Stirling was airlifted to Orange Health Service with hearing damage and shock and, while she is now recovering at home, faces an enormous recovery that will include extensive time out of work.
Her family has asked the community for support.
