NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The cause of a deadly train crash in South Nashville is still under investigation, according to police.

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to a deadly crash involving a pedestrian at the Bell Road overpass, according to a social media post. Metro Dispatch told News 2 the call came in just before 3 p.m. Monday.

The conductor reportedly told police a pedestrian was walking on the tracks and facing away from the train. Though the horn sounded multiple times, the person stayed on the tracks.

No other details were immediately released. News 2 has reached out to the MNPD for more information.
