NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in celebrating the Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s monumental victory in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Finals, calling the achievement a “historic win” that will motivate a new generation of athletes.
The victory, secured by a 52-run margin over South Africa at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, delivered India its first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup trophy, ending decades of anticipation.
