Washington Commanders LB Frankie Luvu has been suspended for one game for repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players. He had been fined for hip drop tackles in Weeks 4 and 8 and now becomes the first NFL player to be suspended for repeated offenses.
Luvu has been having a rough season as he gets used being used more as a pass rusher on the defensive line. He hasn’t had the same effect he had last year, and has been inconsistent in his tackling. Luvu will miss the Lions game on Sunday, and can rejoin the team the following Monday as they prepare for the international game against the Dolphins in Spain.
