Two football players faced disciplinary consequences after a video circulated on social media that showed them fighting, according to a statement Tuscumbia City Schools released on Monday.

School officials said that due to privacy laws, the district cannot provide more information about the incident except to say that the students involved received consequences in line with the District's Code of Conduct and Board Policy.

"The District wants to stress that this video depicts students, and that these students have parents and families," the school system said in a post on Facebook . "While we cannot stop anyone from doing so, we encourage those with the video to refrain from sharing it and posting it on social media.
