ASHEVILLE, N.C. —
Asheville police reported that 563 arrests and citations were made during the 2025 Halloween Booze It and Lose It campaign.
Police said seven people were charged with driving while impaired. Additionally, 91 speeding citations were issued, seven felony arrests were made, 13 people with outstanding warrants were apprehended and two stolen vehicles were recovered.
No motorist or pedestrian fatalities were reported during the campaign, which began on Oct. 27 and ended on Nov. 2.
The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles reports that 361 people died in alcohol-related crashes in North Carolina in 2024. There was a total of 11,782 alcohol-related crashes on NC roads last year.
