BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Bay Minette named its interim police chief following the resignation of Police Chief Al Tolbert.

Jimmy Stracener is now leading the department.

Former Chief Tolbert resigned, effective Monday, in lieu of the swearing in of the city's new mayor, Joshua Brown.

Brown is the first Black mayor to represent the city.
