Changes will be coming to Sault Transit next summer that are designed to improve stop frequency and reliability while maintaining existing costs.
After more than two hours of discussion Monday, city council accepted staff’s six recommendations – and added one of their own – all to modernize the city’s public transit system.

The new Sault Loops system will increase the frequency of bus stop pick-ups, and create four two-directional routes which will allow users to cross over to shorten the time it takes to get to their destination and avoid a downtown connection. The On-Demand weekend evening service will be axed and replaced with hourly fixed route service.
