SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - As programs after programs are weakened by the government shutdown, the effects are slowly trickling into public schools
Amid the confusion, Step Up Suncoast continues their efforts to “empower people who are living with low to moderate income toward self-sufficiency with education and support services and community partnerships.”
Amy Yount, the President and CEO of Step-Up Suncoast, a derivative of the head start program and she explains the impact made in the community,
“We serve over 6000 families per year at step up Suncoast and Manatee Hardy and DeSoto counties. We also have two programs that serve in Sarasota and Charlotte counties... If we did not have the funding for our programs, those families would not have these services. Children would not be able to
