An unwelcome intruder walked right into the home of singer and actress Janelle Monáe, NBC4 Investigates learned exclusively.
The intrusion was reported on Thursday just before Monáe was set to host a Halloween beach party at the Santa Monica Pier, sources tell NBC4. Officers were called to her home in the San Fernando Valley after security encountered the man.

The singer’s crew told police that the man walked through an open gate and into the home. He told security he was there to see Monáe and alleged he was expected.
Monáe’s security asked the intruder to leave. No injuries were reported.
LAPD has not identified the man. The investigation is ongoing.
