SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The San Angelo Central Bobcats have qualified for the playoffs for the first time in the Mark Smith era, and they can improve their seeding with a win at home against Frenship in the regular-season finale Thursday night at San Angelo Stadium.
Central is 5-4 overall and 2-2 in District 2-6A in Smith's second season as head coach. The Bobcats are currently tied for third place with Frenship (4-5, 2-2).
The Bobcats have won two straight games in district, a year after going 1-4 in league play. They are coming off a 35-32 decision on the road against Odessa High this past Friday.
Central will try to avenge a 51-44 loss on the road against Frenship last season.
Kickoff for Thursday's regular-season finale is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
