WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A notice sent by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation concerning THC beverages caused confusion among retailers.

The KBI said it sent the notice to let stores know that they were suspected of selling beverages that are illegal under Kansas law. The notice wasn’t received without push back.

“When the KBI came out particularly after beverages and said these beverages are not legal, they were totally mistaken,” said Sheldon Coleman, a hemp farmer, business owner and former CEO.

The KBI said any drink containing over 0.3% THC concentration is considered illegal. Anyone found selling these products could face prosecution.
