WACO, Texas — The University High School Trojans are celebrating not just a win following their victory over Brenham, but a historic moment.

By defeating Brenham 42-14 on Halloween, the Trojans secured their first district championship since 1996, and their first outright district title since 1956, Waco ISD announced.

Winning the district also means the Trojans will host a playoff game for the third consecutive year, according to Waco ISD, marking another milestone for the program.
