TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — UND opened the 2025-26 regular season with a road game against No. 15 Alabama Monday evening.
The Crimson Tide cruised past the Fighting Hawks 91-62. Alabama took a lead less than three minutes into the game and never relinquished it, flexing its athletic, lengthy roster.
The Hawks return to Grand Forks for their home opener this Thursday against UC Riverside.
Here are five takeaways from the season-opening loss to the Tide.
Senior guard Garrett Anderson led UND with 13 points in the loss. He had 17 field-goal attempts, by far the highest total on the team. Freshman Anthony Smith III and senior guard Eli King were next up with eight attempts apiece.
Anderson was on the court for 26 minutes, second only to King.
