The BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) transported a woman in critical condition to the hospital after she was hit by a vehicle in Surrey.

Police in Surrey (SPS) say the incident happened at King George Boulevard and 40 Avenue at around 6:12 p.m. on Monday.

No one else was injured in the crash.

King George Boulevard remains closed in the northbound direction while southbound traffic is reduced to one lane as the SPS is investigating the incident.

The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the police.

Investigators are asking for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to contact the SPS at 604-599-0502.
