The Dallas Mavericks entered this season with tremendous excitement surrounding Cooper Flagg, their No. 1 overall pick. The rookie arrived with expectations of becoming a strong favorite for the Rookie of the Year award. However, Flagg’s early performances, including his much-anticipated debut, have revealed growing pains. Flagg’s name even slipped in the latest ROTY power ranking.

Monday night added another chapter of frustration for both Flagg and the Mavericks. The team suffered a 102-110 loss to the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.
