The Dallas Cowboys are pushing hard to add a legitimate pass-rusher to their struggling defense ahead of the NFL 's trade deadline on Nov. 4, but the team's top target may end up with a long-time conference rival instead.
Defensive end Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals, the league's reigning sack champion, has been back and forth from the trade block since the preseason. Cincinnati took calls on Hendrickson before the year began and was looking for a first-round pick before eventually calming things down by upping the edge-rusher's 2025 salary to $29 million .
It looked like the Bengals intended to keep Hendrickson on what is literally the NFL's worst defense -- last in total yards per game and points per game through Week 9, per ESPN statistics -- as long as the offense
