Gervonta Davis, the subject of a civil lawsuit and a related criminal investigation, will not fight Jake Paul as scheduled on Nov. 14 in Miami.
Courtney Rossel, Davis’ ex-girlfriend, accused Davis of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
She alleges that Davis attacked her on Oct. 27 in a strip club where she works as a cocktail server. Police in Miami Gardens, Fla., confirmed that an investigation is ongoing, and Roussel received a restraining order barring Davis from coming new her or her workplace, according to USA Today.
In response, Nakisa Bidarian, the CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, which was promoting the Paul-Davis bout, announced in a statement on Monday that the exhibition fight was scrapped.
