A 53-year-old Edinburgh Napier University graduate who put her education on hold to raise her family has finally completed her degree two decades later.
Jilliane McAdam received her BM Midwifery degree alongside her fellow School of Health & Social Care classmates during a ceremony at Edinburgh's Usher Hall.
The mum, from Polbeth in Weat Lothian, originally set out to study the subject back in 1993 however her plans frozen when she decided to put her focus into raising her children.
But when her eldest daughter, Kerry-Lyne, set on her own path to become a midwife, Jilliane was motivated to follow suit. But not all was plain sailing as the student suffered a serious health scare during her course.
