COLUMBUS, Ohio — CVS Health has announced it plans to lay off 72 people working remotely, with nearly all of them living in Ohio.
The company recently filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the Connecticut Department of Labor. The workers being laid off report to CVS Health’s facility in Farmington, Conn.
Seventy of the workers affected live in Ohio, the notice says. It does not specify in which communities they live. The layoffs are considered permanent.
The notice says the job cuts are a result of CVS Health ending its Aetna Medicare Medicaid Program because of the loss of the contract for 2026. The jobs lost include 44 nurses, as well as several social workers and case managers.
The notice says the layoffs are expected to occur between Dec. 31 and March
