As winter approaches, national parks across the country close down trails and areas deemed dangerous due to the extreme weather conditions typical of the winter months.
For instance, Yellowstone National Park has recently announced road closures due to snow warnings , and Mount Rainier National Park also implemented access bans in two areas for winter.
Mount Rainier National Park is now closing yet another trail, but this time, the closure is due to infrastructure damage rather than worsening weather conditions. The park recently published a post on Instagram stating that the Carter Falls Trail had to be closed as the log footbridge allowing visitors to cross over the Nisqually River has recently been damaged.
