It's basketball time in Las Cruces.
New Mexico State's men's and women's basketball teams begin their seasons on Tuesday, Nov. 4. The Aggies' men's team will open with a home game against Adams State, while the women's team travels west to face No. 16 USC in Los Angeles.
NM State's men's team returns two players in guard Gabe Pickens and forwards Jae'Coby Osborne, but has several intriguing newcomers. The headline acquisition was CSU Bakersfield transfer guard Jemel Jones, who was named to the Preseason All-Conference USA team. Transfer forwards Julius Mims (Idaho) and Kyrese Mullen (Hampton) and transfer center Cyr Malonga ( East Carolina ) are also names to watch.
The Aggies are entering their third season under coach Jason Hooten, who went 30-34 in his previous two seasons. NM Stat
