The Chief Resident Magistrate’s Court in Lilongwe has granted bail to 11 suspects believed to be part of the notorious Zikwanje gang, accused of violent attacks in Mponela, Dowa, on May 11 this year.

Chief Resident Magistrate Austin Banda ruled that each suspect must pay K150,000 cash bond and provide two sureties bonded at K2 million each, should they fail to meet bail conditions.

Additionally, the court ordered the suspects to report to Area 30 Police Headquarters every Thursday and surrender their travel documents.

Banda further warned the accused against intimidating or contacting witnesses or complainants in any form directly or through other people.
